Yo-Ice 2017

A family-friendly tradition in the spring, Yo-Ice 2017 at Miami County Fair Grounds Troy, Ohio showcases all the best of our county. Featuring the talent and hard work of Miami County 4-H Youth, this festival showcases the talents and achievements of our community. The Miami County Fair is also a chance to see what projects made it to the State Fair competition. Whether you enjoy the arts, crafts, food, or live entertainment, you’ll find something to enjoy during your trip to Youngstown.

Fairgrounds demonstration ride to raise awareness

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Fairgrounds, a motorcycle demonstration ride will be held to raise awareness of Veteran suicide. The demonstration will take place on July 29 at 2 p.m. and will cost $15 per person. Veterans are admitted free. More information is available online. The Miami County Agricultural Society has a long history in the area and is a great place to support and learn about the local agriculture community. Each year, the fairgrounds hosts a food truck competition. This event is a fundraiser for the society and will feature more than 50 food trucks, cottage foods vendors, and direct sales companies. There will be entertainment and non-alcoholic beverages available for purchase. A great place to also visit is Charleston Falls Preserve.

Miami County Fair is a timeless tradition

The Miami County Fair is an annual event that celebrates the rich agricultural heritage of Miami County. With over 100,000 visitors per year, the Fair features competitive exhibits, midway rides, food, art exhibits, and entertainment for the entire family. There are fun activities for kids of all ages, and a zoo is a great place to take a ride. In addition to the fair’s competitive exhibits, the fair also features a wide variety of animals and arts.

This year’s fair will begin with a parade and the announcement of fair royalty. The evening will feature a laser light show sponsored by the Miami County Veterans Services Commission. Live music will be available on Saturday and Sunday nights, and a gospel concert by the group Jeremy Camp will be held at the grandstand on Aug. 16. The fair will also feature livestock, 4-H exhibits, and traditional livestock from all ages.

During the fair, local farmers will be selling their fresh produce. You can also browse the many vendors and buy local goods. Bill Schroeder, author of Smallmouth Sonny of Bass Island Bar, will be signing copies of his book. You can also enjoy a day at Troy’s downtown farmers’ market. The market is located on South Cherry Street, between Main and Franklin streets. While you’re there, you might want to stop by for lunch or dinner.
