Ice rink

The best thing about this rink is that it is open all year round, including during the winter months. Even during the coldest days, the ice is protected by refrigeration systems. In fact, this is the largest outdoor ice rink in the region.

GermanFest Picnic 5K & 10K

GermanFest Picnic is coming back this year to the RiverScape MetroPark in downtown Dayton, Ohio. The annual event is a major draw for locals and visitors alike. It’s a three-day extravaganza with plenty of food, beverages and entertainment.

The event will be held over the weekend of August 11-12. The event includes a 5K run and 10K walk. There will also be a kids’ zone and a beer garden. Other activities include a kiddie tractor pull, a talent show, a pet parade and more.

The best part is that the festivities will be free to attend. There will be a variety of food, craft beer and even a carnival to choose from. You can also take in the sights, sounds and smells of Dayton’s riverfront. And, don’t forget the fireworks!

Fountain of Lights

The Fountain of Lights at RiverScape MetroPark is one of the largest fountain displays in the world. It is located in Dayton, Ohio. This unique attraction shoots 2,500 gallons of water per minute into the air.

Visitors to the park can enjoy the scenic river views, along with the Fountain of Lights. This is a free attraction to visit.

The park also hosts several community events. These include concerts and festivals. In addition, the park is home to a sprayground and a traditional playground.

Guests can also take a relaxing walk on the catwalk bridge. On summer nights, there is live music. Additionally, the cafe is open during special events.

The fountain is powered by jet-powered pumps. These jets draw from the Great Miami Buried Valley Aquifer, which is an underground reservoir of natural water. It is one of the most plentiful aquifers in the country.

The fountain is fed by seven wells that tap into the aquifer. This ensures that the fountain does not harm the aquifer.

Kayakers

RiverScape MetroPark in Dayton, Ohio, offers a host of family-friendly activities. It’s situated at the junction of the Great Miami River and the Mad River Water Trail.
